Photography is a magical media where photographers can express their marvelous experience to everyone. Apart from having fun with analogue photography, Lomographers also record every smiley face in their colourful daily life. “Shoot from waist level” is the motto of the supreme camera --- Lubitel 166+, which is an expert camera to take portraits.
In April and June, a group exhibition called “Asian Lomography Faces” will be held in the Lomography embassies in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. A series of photographs were taken by the Lomography embassies in Asia Pacific region, to share their vision of their Lomography teammates, friends and the true Lomographers.

BE A TOURIST AT HOME: The Great Lomography Shoot-out!
Explore the little known and oft forgotten parts of Singapore that you probably pass by everyday enroute to school or work but mostly hardly notice, with the Lomographic Embassy Singapore and your handy Lomography camera! Join us as we spend a fine Sunday MRT-station-hopping dressed like tourists and discover the charms of different neighbourhoods all around this tropical little island. First 20 pre-registrants get a roll of film and an all-day travel pass!
Lomolitos (the cute little single-use cameras with coloursplashing-flashing abilities) will be available for sale at a discounted rate on the day, if you don't own a camera and would like to be part of this great shoot-out!
Pictures will be exhibited at the Lomographic Embassy Singapore from Jun 26, as part of the month-long celebrations to mark the 25th birthday of the LOMO LC-A, the little feisty analogue camera where it all began! More birthday celebrations are lined up, keep a lookout for them or email singapore@lomographyasia.com to be kept updated!

In celebration of the International Women's Day, Dianalogues – Through a Woman’s Lens saw laptop rocker The Analog Girl, Grace Tan of kwodrent, Books Actually’s Bookseller Karen Wai, filmmaker Tan Pin Pin and Zouk’s former Marketing Manager Tracy Phillips to shoot with the Diana F+ camera with the theme "the female voice". The pictures were exhibited and made available for sale at the Lomographic Embassy Singapore in Mar/Apr 09 and sales of the prints were donated to the Association for Women for Action and Research (AWARE). More than 60 prints were sold and we collected about S$450 in donations. Grace Tan and former AWARE president, Constance Singam, also took time off to speak about her work and the organisation respectively in a public talk. Groups of enthusiastic Lomographers went on the Lomography bandwagon and travelled to exotic locations in our sunny (and sometimes rainy) little island, in a series of activities and get-togethers from Jul - Nov 08. From open-mic sessions, to shoot-outs and talks, seasoned and newbie Lomographers got a chance to mingle and shoot to their hearts' content. Pictures of the event and Lomographs shot during the shoot-outs can be viewed on our Flickr group, The More We Get Together Lomography Sessions. There will be more More We Get Together Lomography Sessions in 2009, so keep a lookout for it!
LOMO LOVES LOCAL: LOMO + ELECTRICO COLLABORATION

As part of Electrico's launch of their new album, We Satellites, 8 Lomographers got a chance to follow the band around during their launch tour and shoot pictures of them on-stage, off-stage, being serious and/or plain goofing around! Some of the pictures can be viewed online on our Flickr page! The event culminated in an exhibition where the picutres of the chosen ones were featured alongside a Lomowall of pictures shot by the band themselves.
Electrico is one of Singapore's most stylish and prevalent band and they play guitar-based rock n roll and it consists of David Tan (vocals, guitar), Desmond Goh (bass) and William Lim, Jr (drums, backing vocals) and Amanda Ling (keyboards). 40 globe-trotting Lomographers submitted a grand total of 495 pictures for this fantasy travel themed competition that lasted us through the Christmas/New Year/Chinese New Year holidays. While we're dreaming of our next exciting holiday, we'd like to congratulate Jeremy Chua, Nicholas Chen and Cindy Tan for having the most exotic travel Lomographs that took the fancy of our "official" Lomo Ambassador judges. Jeremy took home a S$400 travel voucher kindly sponsored by STA Travel, Nicholas bagged a Diana+ camera, and Cindy got a Lomo Agenda Notebook, a pack of Fotoclips, and an exclusive Diana F+ book.

Super Lomographers trooped down to the Arts House at Old Parliament Lane bright and early on Jul 1, 2006 and participated in a day of activities including a Lomo shoot-out with a set of clues provided by the Lomo Embassy, others got down and dirty trying out some of the Lomo cameras, and some others built superheroes with Lomographs and Fotoclips.
The exhibition lasted for a month and we'd like to extend our congratulations to Jessica Chia for bagging a Horizon Kompakt for having the most-voted Superhero photo!

Holga enthusiasts were invited to pick up a free roll of black & white Ilford XP2 film at Ruby Photo with their Holga and start capturing their world in monochromes. The pictures were then put up on the Holga wall at Objectifs where votes were cast by the audience who came by for the exhibition from Oct 14 to Oct 27, 2005. Congratulations to Herriot Stobo, Jael Chng, Law Chui Sia and Jessica Chia for bagging an Epson scanner, an Epson printer, a ColorFlash Holga Starter Kit + Tunnelvision Lens + Filters, and a copy Adobe Photoshop Elements respectively!
HEINEKEN GREENSPACE CITY HUNT

90 Lomographers went beyond colour, identity, control, love, words and space and discovered their greenspace on Sep 10, 2005, Saturday in Ann Siang/Chinatown. With the limited edition Greenspace Colorsplash Camera or their favourite Lomo camera, participants of the City Hunt went on a shooting frenzy with a certain shooting list of clues. Everyone was treated to complimentary beer from Heineken at the after-party at Asylum at Clarke Quay later that night where the winner of the City Hunt was announced. Congratulations to Brandon Lee! His pictures will represent Singapore in the Lomography Greenspace project along with winners from the city hunts held in London and Buenos Aires and winners from the international competition on the Lomography Greenspace minisite. A round of applause also to Hoe Shu Shen and Mikko Cayetano for coming in second and third respectively and for being proud owners of a limited edition Greenspace Colorsplash camera each!
Winners of the City Hunt stand to win attractive prizes, including a chance to win a round trip for 2 to Valencia, Spain complete with three nights’ accommodation. The complete work of all participants were up on a Lomowall at the international Heineken Greenspace festival in Valencia from 24 – 29 Oct, 2005.

Lomography encourages pride in spontaneous pictures, creates envy and greed in others for your luscious Lomo camera(s). The sexy curves of the camera incite lust. Anger sets in when that hunger for shooting is not satisfied and Lomography’s infamous “Don’t Think, Just Shoot” mantra challenges sloth. Gluttony is piqued with the rich and saturated pictures.
Seven artists, including “Dim Sum Dolly” Emma Yong, local fashion
label Woods & Woods, independent filmmaker Royston Tan, WORK’s creative
director Theseus Chan, Zouk’s resident DJ Brendon P, pop artist and
painter David Chan and local indie rock band Electrico were invited to interpret
the 7 Deadly Sins with a Colorsplash camera in the first act of this event.
The results were pictures saturated in sin and colours. In the second act,
Lomographers exhibited their sinful pictures at Objectifs. This Lomo extravaganza
culminated in a night of Sin and colours in Very Sinful Night at Velvet Underground
in Zouk in Jul 2007, where pictures by the seven artists were exhibited on illuminated
standing boxes. Heineken provided thirst quenchers with complimentary beer.
WHAT THE ___ IS LOMO?

“What The ____ Is Lomo?” celebrates our passion for capturing the everyday.
In this art installation, we reconstructed the world as we know it with our basic building blocks – Lomo photographic prints. We recreated a Lomo living space, tastefully furnished with designer furniture, electronic gadgets and our very own art collection showcasing Lomo gums with pictures by local Lomographers.
This event was held in celebration of the launch of Objectifs as the new Lomo Embassy in Oct 2004.

In the early 1990s, a couple of students chanced upon the LC-A in an
old camera shop in Vienna. Impressed by its sharp glass lends, extreme
light sensitivity and robust casing, they started shooting as many pictures
as possible in the most impossible of situations and from the most unusual
positions. The result was a flood of colourful, crazy, off-the-wall,
and extraordinary snapshots. The Lomographic Embassy Singapore is the cultural representative of the Lomographische AG (Lomographic Society International) and, at the same time, the first local service point for people who want to learn more about Lomography. We provide options to customise cameras with logos or corporate colours, or purchases in bulk for non-commercial purposes. Please email singapore@lomographyasia.com for more information. Do note that camera customisations would require a minimum order quantity of 1000pcs.
If you are having trouble with your Lomo camera, please contact us at the Embassy and we will try our best to help you. When coming by with your faulty camera or flash, do remember to bring along your warranty card (the blue card that the retailer should have given you when you bought your camera), your official receipt, pictures and/or negatives that the faulty camera has produced if any.
Please note that we will only be able to do exchanges for cameras bought in Singapore or on Lomographyasia.com with manufacture defects which are purchased within a year with proof of purchase.
